Breaking free

We have hope in Christ, and because God's original plan for us is redemption and reunification: relationship with Him.  Upon repentance and acknowledging God as our Savior, we can cuddle up in His lap, and we can choose to live His great plans for us.  This is for us, and our children.

“The soul who sins is the one who will die… the child will not share the guilt of the parent.” (Ezekiel 18:20)

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

“Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.” (John 8:36)

In Christ, you and your children are free from repeating the patterns of the past, and don't have to continue experiencing the trauma it produced.

Freedom must be claimed and walked out.  This is where God has called you to intercede for this child.  You must walk a new life with them, teach them new patterns of living that honor God.  This will take a lot of prayer and patience, but God said you can!

Your children’s spiritual inheritance flows from what you speak, what you model, and what you believe.
When you choose God’s truth over your circumstances, your perception and then your circumstances begin to submit to His truth.

WHAT YOU FOCUS ON IS WHAT YOU RECEIVE
When your eyes are fixed on:
Fear → you inherit anxiety
Lack → you inherit scarcity
Circumstances → you inherit discouragement
Mental and physical sickness  → you inherit disease

But when your eyes are fixed on:
God’s abundance (El Shaddai) → you inherit fullness
God’s provision (Jehovah Jireh) → you inherit confidence
God’s peace (Jehovah Shalom) → you inherit rest
God’s love (Abba Father) → you inherit identity and belonging
God's healing (Jehovah Rophe) → you inherit health and a sound mind

Your perspective steers your home like a compass.
Your focus frames your family’s legacy.
What you behold in God becomes what your children receive from you.

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law.” (Galatians 3:13)

“For this reason the Son of God appeared: to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)

“For freedom Christ has set us free.” (Galatians 5:1)

Jesus gives us instruction on praying out demons recorded in Matthew 17:14-21, Mark 9:14-28, and Luke 9:37-42.  We can intercede for others.  We must have faith to do it, (sometimes accompanied by fasting by all parties) and we must do it in a way that the one set free is filled up with the Holy Spirit- this is the process of sharing Christ and their individual and continuous meditation on the Word of God, that must not be overlooked.  Discipling and personal discipline of seeking the Lord's direction are the ongoing sanctification agreement we must each step into- to continue to thwart the schemes of the enemy.  (Matthew 12:22-37, Mark 3:23-27, Luke 11:17-22)  To be truly free, we must accept the Holy Spirit's power for our life: submitting to God only, lest, when an evil spirit comes out it returns with many more and we, or our children, end up in a worse condition! (Matthew 12:43-45)  Our role is so important, but we are still not the end all: each one gets to choose, and God is waiting!

Proverbs 24:3-6, we must fill our rooms- our brain- with the knowledge of God, and we must share that knowledge with our children:
"By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.  A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength; for waging war you need guidance and for victory many advisers."

Choose wisely; direct your children with wisdom.

Apply the finished work of Christ to your home through:

Truth

Prayer

Blessing

Spiritual covering

Identity formation

Surrender and obedience

Your authority as a parent is real.
Submit to Christ, to uproot fear.
Teach them to submit by walking in submission.
You are their greatest example,
and God's grace is sufficient for your faults.
