Pledge of a faithful wife
For the next 24 hours I will be exposed to the day's demands, and possible night callings. It is now, as the day breaks and the sun rises, that I must make a choice who owns the day. Because of Calvary, I'm free to choose. Because I have chosen Christ, because Christ has made me new and continues to renew me, because He has given me everything I need for the day in His presence, I submit this day to Him. It's really not about what I can do, but about what I believe. So, because I believe in the risen Savior, Jehovah Jireh, my Heavenly Father, and Holy Spirit indwelling:
I choose Love...
No person, action or occasion justifies hatred, no injustice warrants bitterness. God has created me and loves me: I choose to accept His love. He has surrounded me with His creation and His children: I choose to love them with the love He has shown me. I overflow with His love. Today I will love God and what (whom) God loves.
I choose Joy...
I will invite my God to be the God of circumstance. I will refuse the temptation to be cynical or jaded... the tool of the lazy and ungrateful thinker. I will refuse to see people as anything less than human beings, created by God. I will refuse to see any problem as anything less than an opportunity to see God. Every circumstance, every person, every glimpse of God's creation is an invitation to see God, and to be joyful. Joy is the overflow of thankfulness, gratitude, and praise. In all things I will choose to praise Him.
I choose Peace...
I will live forgiven. I will forgive so that I may live. I will rest in the power of His plans for me. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. God is my master, I submit my life to Him, and His plans for me are good, that I would prosper. I have no reason to doubt, I have Shalom peace.
I choose Patience...
I will overlook the inconveniences of the world. Instead of cursing the one who takes my place, I'll invite him to do so. Rather than complain that the wait is too long, I will thank God for the moments to pray, reflect, and deepen understanding and relationship.
I choose Kindness...
I will be kind to the poor, for they are alone. Kind to the rich, for they are afraid. And kind to he unkind, for such is how God has treated me. Instead of letting my chest tighten with resistance and fear, I will let God's grace come over me. When I feel opposition, I will confront with patience, love, joy, and courage.
I choose Goodness...
I will go without a dollar before I take a dishonest one. I will be overlooked before I will boast. I will confess before I will accuse. I will be true to the Word I have accepted for my life.
I choose Faithfulness...
I will keep my promises. My friends and those who share their heart with me will not regret their trust. My word will not be in question because my character shows true. My husband will not question my commitment, respect, or love. My children will never fear that I will leave them.
I choose Gentleness...
Nothing is won by force. I choose to be gentle. If I raise my voice may it be only in praise. If I clench my fist, may it be only in passionate prayer. If I make a demand, may it be only of myself.
I choose Self-Control
I am a spiritual being... after this body is dead, my spirit will soar. I refuse to let what will rot, rule the eternal. I choose self-control. I will find fulfillment only in Christ, I will find comfort only in His Word. I will not seek comfort of peace from any substance or person. I will let only my desire for His presence consume me. I will be impassioned only by my faith. I will be influenced only by God. I will be taught only by Christ. I will choose self-control.
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control. I Submit my day to the Holy Spirit living through me that God would be glorified. That His kingdom would come and take residence in my home. If I succeed, I will give Him thanks. If I fail, I will seek His grace. And then, when the day is done, I will place my head on my pillow and rest, knowing I am in His hands.
