God is looking for help meets: ladies who will be vessels of blessings.
Thank You Lord, for the reminder that you will provide everything we need today. Even as I was able to get some time in my devotional before Chris left, to in-turn encourage him as anxiety started to well-up over all that we need to get done if we're really going to be able to turn our current house over to renters 4 days after we sign on our new house (which is in 7 days): with 3 of those days him going to investing classes and not actually being hands-on with any part of the move or settling. He's got moving chickens, their coop and run, and all of the indoor and outdoor preparations in mind. I remind him, "God will provide! He will multiply your time and give you more hands to help." Nathaniel has friends coming who can be of great assistance, and Chris also has friends who can take care of the moving part. Oh, Lord, how excited I am for Chris to see you provide and pour out blessings as we entrust You and the people You provide!
When we consider how awesome and terrible in judgement God is, why do we continue in our own way? We long for blessing, yet continue to function in our own strength, not trusting Him to multiply what we submit. We come to Him with closed hands, "protecting", not realizing we cannot receive with these closed hands. And how do we identify what we're submitting to earthly powers versus His power? Our greatest challenge is in communication. Are you praying through what you're doing? He will speak to you.
Maybe you, like me, spend time in the morning in His word and in prayer. As you go about the day, it's breath prayers, thoughts that are followed by, "I trust You God!" He will bring direction: maybe it's directly to you, telling you what to do, maybe it's through a friend, acquaintance, or even passerby that drops an idea that is perfect- or even a physical blessing in time of need. Maybe it's through that hubby of yours. You never expressed your request to him, yet somehow he came home and knew just what to do. I am reminded, again, of this latter miracle. An incredibly godly mentor of mine once told me, "Cheryl, pray, ask God to move in your husband your request, and watch God answer without you ever nagging, complaining, or planting a seed of doubt or discord in your husband." Holy Spirit can reach your husband much better than you think you can articulate!
Even when you don't have a clear answer that looks like the "blessed way of God", submitting to God as you do what looks like disaster in obedience to whom He has given authority to, "as unto the Lord," will reap blessing. No, you may not see it immediately, but remember to be chaste in your speech, do not complain or go on to others about your great sacrifices for the sake of _____ or call judgement upon your husband. God sees, He hears: continue to speak His blessings over others and yourself as you diligently obey.
Throughout the Bible we see God looking for people who will be faithful. Who will "even when...." Lord, help us as women to be faithful to You and our husband even.... We cannot speak blessings and curses at the same time. Let our tongues not be forked and deceitful. Our husbands need to hear our praises and our friends hear us praise him, even.... Consider Gideon, Sara, Abraham, Jesus! The greater the sacrifice looks, the greater the blessing will be, even eternal life in peace and in the presence of our savior! Do not lose heart that your life is wasting in sacrifice, you are looking in the wrong direction! Look up and praise Him as you work throughout the day: you will soon see the blessings.
Is God looking for you? Or have you made yourself known? "I will be Your faithful servant, and I will be his help meet!" God is looking for help meets, ladies who will honor what he said in His "letter of instructions," His love letter" to each of us for this life so that even here and now we can experience walking with Him. He wants us to be willing vessels of blessings. That we also would be blessed! The bless-er is not void of receiving overflow when they pour out for others as God appoints! He has so many blessings and so few willing vessels!
Is he waiting for you to submit to Him and be a joyful help meet? How will you know when you are truly living out His call for you as His woman, appointed to the man you married? Laughter. Genuine laughter shared between you and your husband as you delight in each other. The lovely, musical sound of joyful laughter shared between a husband and wife means the guard has been let down, and even more so than sex, oxytocin is released, further bonding the ones He intended to become one. And with this, He can pour the cup of blessings, that He has been eagerly awaiting to pour, over you and your husband. The blessings will come, splashing over you, faster than you can receive, the ripple-affect impacting your children and those around you. You are a river overflowing the life He wants to bless you and others with. Laughter is the sound of thanksgiving, trust, pure bliss. You cannot laugh with someone you don't trust: when you submit and trust Him, he will allow you to laugh again with God, and the one He's given you.
He is the awesome God of blessings and delight. He is ever willing and eager to bless those who honor Him. Do you hear Him? God is looking for help meets to bless as he raises up men of Valor. Make your life about submitting, and you will be "higher" than you're afraid of going so low. His blessings will overflow. Trust Him to dance the dance of the helper for your husband. God has a calling for him that will be released with your obedience. Praise Him in advance, and dance! The laughter is coming!
